Injection molding

The ski boots are made from a thermoplastic, usually polyurethane or polyamide, i.e. a material that can be formed when subjected to heat. This means that the plastic granulate is melted and can then be formed in metal molds by means of injection molding.

making of
The plastic granulate is heated to about 250°C in large injection molding machines and injected into the closed metal mold.

After cooling briefly, the mold opens and the finished part can be removed.
