LOWA ACTIVE Team

The mountains are calling! That’s really most fitting for all of the athletes on the LOWA ACTIVE TEAM. They consist mainly of mountain guides, alpinists, mountain enthusiasts, or former participants in the German Alpine Club’s (DAV) Expedition Team for youth. Many of them spend nearly all of their free time on their expensive hobby, whilst a few do try to turn their favourite pastime into a profession.

As with the CLIMBING Team, for us at LOWA it is not only about supporting team members on their projects and adventures. Rather, we rely on their opinions and experiences for our products. For us, they are the experts. Why? Because they all wear and test our footwear on all sorts of terrain and during many types of uses, from approaches on ice and rock to full expeditions. And, of course, as a part of that, these athletes must also put their confidence in us and in our work. We analyse every little detail that they find doesn’t quite measure up on their adventures, all in search of a better solution. This creates a solid partnership and continual improvement in our footwear.

Jacqueline Fritz

Jacqueline Fritz

A total of 312 kilometres and an elevation gain of 35,000 metres. These were the distances that Jacqueline Fritz covered during her great adventure in 2016. One other special companion went along as well: the two crutches that Jaqueline uses because she has just one leg.

Tobias Karpinski

Tobias Karpinski

Tobias Karpinski is a bit of an exotic member of the LOWA ACTIVE Team.

Fritz Miller

Fritz Miller

The 32-year-old Fritz Miller, from Reutlingen, Southern Germany, has been fascinated with mountaineering and climbing since he was a very small child.

Josef Pfnür

Josef Pfnür

Josef “Steno” Pfnür doesn’t really call himself a true sport climber. The 25-year-old’s interests are way too varied for that.

Volker Schöffl

Volker Schöffl

In his profession as a sports doctor and sports orthopaedist, Volker Schöffl is able to perfectly combine his two passions — the outdoors and medicine.

Xaver Mayr

Xaver Mayr

It seems like it was just yesterday, the first time that you took part in one of our events. You made sure that we always moved along safely and assisted us in that composed way of yours. Your love of life was infectious. We will miss you. Our thoughts now go out to your family and friends.
