Realisation of a dream

The 32-year-old Fritz Miller, from Reutlingen, Southern Germany, has been fascinated with mountaineering and climbing since he was a very small child. As long as he can remember, both were a part of his life’s dream. Still, he lacked a bit of earnestness at first. As a youth, his dream should have become reality. Fritz selected some crags in the Swabian Jura as his training grounds and practiced and practiced. With time, he added the Alps to his training area -- not only for climbing, but also for mountaineering and skiing.

But his athletic pursuit wasn’t much more than a time-intensive hobby. Fritz earned his living as a mechatronics engineer in a manufacturing facility. Since he just felt better in the mountains, however, he took a big step in 2007 and simply gave notice and left. For four months, he trained himself and his body climbing and mountaineering so intensively that he was promptly selected for the German Alpine Club’s (DAV) Expedition team for youth. A logical consequence of that to live his complete dream, he began training a year later to become a mountain guide. Ever since then, he helps his clients realise their own dreams, both big and small. He loves to lead especially challenging tours in the Western Alps. In addition, Fritz works as a climbing coach and on the side has also published a training book on slacklining.
